Factorio city block design. If this is for Sea Block then it is tempting to make them smaller in the beginning since you will need 10000 landfill for each, but eventually you will have plenty of landfill. My working prototype right now is 10 chunks by 10 chunks -- 320 tiles * 320 tiles. Rail segments will be smaller, but still chunk-aligned.

Raw resource input to all science @ 1 science/minute output. It would be space inefficient, but highly expandable. Under a current typical system, you have to build 5 or 6 or more peice to expand production of one type of science. My goal is to require only building more blocs. 2.

Scatter depots in unused sections of other blocks. + fewer bottlenecks.

I need to make a decision on whether to have a station design with one-direction entrance and exit, or a more conventional bidirectional entrance and exit. 1. gurebu • 36 min. ago. Each of my modules has a constant combinator outputting it's peak consumption and production per minute, production positive, consumption negative. It's then pushed to the global circuit network. Having enough becomes as easy as making sure no signal on the network is negative but the raw resources. 1.Finally managed to create design with all these requirements. Here are some details: - LHD grid aligned 9x9 chunks (294x294 tiles & 5x5 Roboports) area with 4 way Celtic knot intersection. - Used different templates for 4,8 and 12 stations. 4 station one have 1 extra train capacity i.e train limit = 2. - Cityblock is for trains and belts only.Step 1. 2. Build or copy your blueprint in the landfill cell, aligned how you want it to be aligned within the cell. Step 2. 3. Use the blueprint tool and grab an area at least containing the full grid cell. It doesn't have to be exact at all, as long as you don't grab any entities/tiles outside the cell. 4.What you are asking about is basically the age-old question of "How to make many-to-many train system work". If you want to build for 1-4 trains or larger you'll want larger blocks. 1-8-1 megabse trains work nicely with 100x400 "blocks" with one 100x100 block for main rails/intersections, then a block of stacking, a block of unloading and loading then 1 100x100 block of beaconed build. 2. Take my replies below with a grain of salt. City blocks work very differently for different people, and especially based on how they're used. Small details in implementation can make one city block design work perfectly in one factory and be useless deadlock in another, so just keep in mind that "if it works for your design, then it's fine" is an acceptable answer.

Generally speaking roundabouts have somewhat low throughput, so I'd go for 4 way intersections. The most efficient city block design I've used was brick wall design, solely using 3-way intersections. The network was designed for 1-4 trains but there also were 1-2 trains for high value materials. 4 tiles gap between rails as it can perfectly fit ...If this is for Sea Block then it is tempting to make them smaller in the beginning since you will need 10000 landfill for each, but eventually you will have plenty of landfill. Rail segments will be smaller, but still chunk-aligned.The building space was enough for most uses, but it felt like I had to split up a few too many blocks that were slightly too big, and the ratio of tracks to factory was a bit high for my liking. 8x8 might be just enough, but I'd still say more like 10x10 or 11x11 would be better.
